The blog entry states IDS 11.10 support is for "SAP products based on the 46D_EXT and 6.40 kernels". I am not aware of IDS support in later versions of SAP, though I hope that changes some day. I read in Guy's blog that IDS 11 is now certified for SAP, and wrote immediately to my customer - perhpas the most famous broadcasting company in the world? - who has felt obliged to migrate away from IDS She wrote by reply: "Alas, that's only for the older SAP versions - though it's good that they're still certifying the newer versions of Informix for those. As of the SAP version ERP 2005 (released about 2 years ago), Informix support has been dropped for new SAP releases though. The only supported databases at the current version are DB2, MAXDB, SQL Server and Oracle. So it was necessary to migrate databases in order to upgrade beyond SAP Netweaver 2004s, which is the last version to support Informix." Is this true, or can I set her right? If it is true, what is IBM doing behind the scenes that I might update her? On the evidence of the private mails I've had from IBMers since my original post: lots. They're trying very hard to talk SAP into supporting IDS again on new releases, and are encouraged by the support offered for IDS 11 on the old version.
