HDR on same server

Hello all,
IDS 11.10 FC3 on solaris 10
On my test server I tried to setup a HDR with 2 instances on same server using
ontape and relative ROOTPATH. DRAUTO 0, DRINTERVAL 30 & DRTIMEOUT 30 for both
instances.
sqlhosts has entries for both the instances & corresponding entries in
/etc/services also the DBSERVERNAME & NUM are different for both instances.
primary online.log showed
07:02:37 DR: Reservation of the last logical log for log backup turned on
07:02:37 DR: new type = primary, secondary server name = lt3_shm
07:02:37 DR: Trying to connect to secondary server = lt3_shm
07:02:37 DR: Cannot connect to secondary server
07:02:37 DR: Turned off on primary server
May be i missed using lt3(tcp) instead of lt3_shm(shared mem), I'll try with
lt3 but for now could any one please explain me, what does the message
"Reservation of the last logical log for log backup turned on" means?
Regards
Vikas
Yes, HDR wants to use a TCP connection for HDR. It assumes that the servers
are on different physical machines. Note make sure the two instances have
different SERVERNUM settings.
The note about the logical log is just noting that the engine will try not
to use the last logical log if the secondary is running so far behind that
the logical logs on the primary have filled up and cannot be freed.

Hi,
why don't use Solaris Containers?

You can not use shared memory communication between two servers even
if they are on the same machine. You must use tcp or streams(str).
