DBI and DBD::Informix can access IUS, but they're only guaranteed to work
with the pre-IUS data types (because I simply haven't yet made time to sort
out the new features). Since you're using the Web datablade, DBD::Informix
as supplied out of the box probably won't work for you. On the other hand,
it should not be very difficult to extend it to handle the LVARCHAR data
type, and then use LVARCHAR to retrieve any IUS-only data type or
user-defined data type.
I'd love someone to volunteer for this work, but otherwise, you're going to
have to wait until I find the time.
