Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

I am trying to monitor the wait time for an application that is accessing an
Informix 7.22UC1 database.
According to my interpretation of the Informix documentation, I should be
able to get statistics
on wait times from the sysseswts SMI table. However, when I run tests that
produce waits, this table
does not contain any information. I can see lokwaits increase with onstat -p
and in the throughput
time of the application, but it doesn't appear in sysseswts.
Do I need to do anything special to have Informix populate this table?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Yes there are environment vars and/or ONCONFIG parameters that must be
set up at engine startup time to enable the extended wait statistics
gathering. It is disabled by default because it is too expensive.
Give tech support a call and they will explain the setup to get
different levels of stats. FYI Do not set this active on a production
system, way too slow.
