Tab key option?

I wrote a labeling system in 4gl for SCO UNIX. The label editing screen consists of 14 fields , 57 characters long. When the end user edits the label they obviously want this done A.S.A.P. Is there any way they can tab over within a field (at least 5 spaces at a time, or more) to speed up this process? The tab key itself does not work within these screen fields.
