DO NOT MUCK WITH THE SYSTABLES ENTRIES! If you need to change owner of the
database and/or tables you will have to dbexport the database with -ss, edit
the schema to change the owners of the tables, then drop and dbimport the
database.

Stop ! :-) you didn't understand my problem. I have two databases which have about 350 tables each one. On the first one, all owners are by default "INFORMIX" On the other one, owners are "toto", "tata, "titi"....., with no logical rule. That i want to do is to give on my first database's tables the same owners as the second one, for continuing to use ODBC links with my new database, without redevelopp all links with new owners and not to have two versions of my excel files I'm looking for a (or more) SQL request(s) which can directly modifiy owners in the database. I can't believe that INFORMIX doesn't have previewed this function. thx for your help Chewbacca
