Re: Online instalation error, please HELP

So after several discussions with Informix, I came to the conclusion I
had to jam new kernel parms down Sco's throat. Because Sco allows
only the preset maxes and mins, you will have to violate the dictates
of their manual and hand edit their memtune parms, then try a relink.
Oh, yes, BUT first - make a copy of these critical files (in /etc/cf.d)!!!
Because you just might (heaven forbid) forget the original settings or
really screw things up.
The memory error on initialization is truly a Sco thing (triggered by
Informix's desire to handle the shared memory), and so must be attacked
from the Sco angle. You'll have to look at your release notes and
try to follow them religiously bearing in mind they were developed
by Informix testers for a similar (not identical) environment. But
give Informix as much as you can (consulting your release notes) and
as much as Sco will allow without bombing on your kernel remake.
HTH,
Nick
