RE: IDS 10 Solaris Compatibility

That's just the start. Even if they were both the same (big endian or little endian) the machine code is completely different and the chip architectures are completely different. Then there's the OSs which are completely different. Both architectures are not compatible, unlike AMD/Intel. No, not binary compatible at all. The x86 platform is little-endian integers and floats while Sparc is big-endian. So SPARC-> Linux x86 would not work for exactly the same reason? _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with Microsoft's powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/177141664/direct/01/ http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/177141664/direct/01/
