There is an APAR 36846548 for this message currently open against 11.10. It does not appear to be opened against 10.00 at this time. 11.10 isn't up to FC6 yet, so I assume you meant 10.00. Of course it's possible that your issue is not the same one as the existing APAR -- all we know right now is that the same message appears in online.log, but the causes might be different. The existing APAR 36846548 says: TURN ON AFFINITY MAY LEADS TO VP NOTIFY MECHANISM FAILED AND CRASH WHEN TIMEOUT When you turn on Affinity (AFF_SPROC & AFF_NPROC set to any value > 0), you might hit a startup problem with hang or crash. In your online.log, will noticed "VP Notify..." messages like the following: 11:26:26 Affinitied VP 8 to phys proc 2 11:26:26 Affinitied VP 15 to phys proc 16 11:26:26 Affinitied VP 12 to phys proc 16 11:34:29 VP Notify mechanism incomplete after 5 minutes.
