I don't have an answer for why the serial index would skip like it did. Maybe someone else has run into this problem. It was working fine until it got to 39184. Then the next number that was assigned was 2,038,451. No records exist between 39,184 and the 2 million number. I need to keep the same serial number that has been assigned to each record. How can I get the serial number back to 39,000?? just rebuild the database? Thanks..
