I'm debating whether to say RTFM or not. It is covered in there. Unless you surrond the user name with quotes (which should be single quotes since you are using 7.10 -- it won't actually matter unless you have the DELIMIDENT environment variable set, though), the user ID is converted to upper-case in accordance with the ANSI SQL standard. This applies everywhere you might use an authorization ID (aka user name). It has applied to MODE ANSI databases since 4.00.UC1, so it is not new behaviour.
