How to test manually whehter the SDK is OK? This is almost certainly not a Perl problem so I have added the crosspost to comp.databases.informix. You will need to have a database called 'stores' available for make test to work - you can run '$INFORMIXDIR/bin/esqldemo7 stores' in order to create it - this will also throw up any problems with your client configuration. You should have created the appropriate 'sqlhosts' file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc to point at your server and should have $INFORMIXSERVER contain the name of that entry - you can read about this in Answers Online. You will also want to look at the release notes for the Client SDK that have been installed in $INFORMIXDIR/release to discover the platform specific configuration details. /J\\ -- Jonathan Stowe <jns@gellyfish.com> <http://www.gellyfish.com> Hastings: <URL:http://dmoz.org/Regional/UK/England/East_Sussex/Hastings>
