Re: New Era is a PC product ( was reply )

I can appreciate the feelings about making NewEra more widely available to the development community. I for one would love to give it a try and see what could be done, but at the current prices for a development licence I will need a few customers to subsidise it. One idea that i quite like is the Microsoft Plus program. This enables users to register their commitment to Microsoft (by a token payment) and they then get discounts on products and special offers on launch products. Would people be interested in a similar scheme from INFORMIX? We are in the process of setting up an International User Group. Perhaps this International User Group should take ideas like this onboard and discuss them more widely. I will be raising these issues at the inaugural international user group meeting in San Jose (part of the Worldwide User Conference). Please feel fre to lobby me on the issue beofre then.
