Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Assuming your platform supports "dynamic linking" you can place the
Informix libraries into one or more shared object libraries.
example using AT&T Unix SVR4 :
cd /tmp/testshlib
ar xv $INFORMIXDIR/lib/libsql4.a
cc -G -o libsql4.so *.o
# Now linking with -L/tmp/testshlib -lsql4 will link in the Informix
# shared object library instead of the static one.
cc -L/tmp/testshlib -o a.out esql.o -lsql4
