accessing shared memory

Hi
How do I set up a user so that they can access shared memory (ie. they can use the onstat - command) . Currently only root can access shared memory (not even informix can access shared memory or use the onstat - command)
I have tried stting up the group so that informix is a member of informix group
but this does not seem to make any difference
Thanks

User informix's default group, in /etc/passwd, should be group informix.
If not you have to do "newgrp informix" to change the current group to
another group of which a userid is a member. Other than that you just need
to have ONCONFIG and INFORMIXSERVER set such that INFORMIXSERVER names the
DBSERVERNAME or DBSERVERALIAS that is a shared memory connection in the
sqlhosts file.
