Odd Informix Behavior - User Failing

Occasionally I get the following message when using things like senter2 or ace etc. "Incorrect password or user wyzaj@cx is not known on the database server." The funny thing is the password hasn't changed and if I run the command again just after it, it will suddenly work. This has happened for other users too. Anyone seen something like this happen? One of the attractive things about programmers is that you cannot tell whether or not they are working simply by looking at them. Very often they're sitting there seemingly drinking coffee and gossiping, or just staring into space. What the programmer is trying to do is get a handle on all the individual and unrelated ideas that are scampering around in his head." - Charles M. Strauss

I've seen that error - we have a user coming in on JDBC connection & since password aging is enabled on machine it gives that if password expires for this user. -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Wyza, Jonathon Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 12:07 AM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: Odd Informix Behavior - User Failing [19864] Occasionally I get the following message when using things like senter2 or ace etc. "Incorrect password or user wyzaj@cx is not known on the database server." Thanks, but password aging is not set on the machine (though it should be) and the error can go away within minutes of occurring with no changes being made.
