Environment: Informix 4.0 Standard Engine I have been puzzling over a mysterious problem with an Informix 4GL application. It is a simple timecard application which is used in-house. Everyone tracks the hours spent on different projects. I started noticing several weeks ago that some people began showing up on late reports who steadfastly assured me that they had entered their time for the week. I ran an isql query from my terminal and it showed that they had no data for the week. They ran the same isql query from their terminal and the data showed up. I experimented for quite some time and could detect no pattern. Now my data is missing but it can be viewed by someone else running a query. I have dba permission as do the few others who run the queries. The .dat and .idx files have 666 permissions. There are update, delete, and alter permissions for everyone at this time. There is no pattern regarding access method since they do not appear for me using 4GL report programs or isql queries. Yet the data is there. Has anyone else had this occur? Is this some kind of bug in the database or in my code? The application has been running nearly a year without major problems. This seemed to start about 3 weeks ago. -- Jim Nielsen Motorola Inc., Commercial Systems Division jmn@pdx.csd.mot.com . . . tektronix!reed!cvedc!mcspdx!jmn Voice: (503) 643-6247 . . . . uunet!apple!motcsd!mcspdx!jmn
