Are there tools to convert SQL Server 2016 data into Informix version 12.10.FC6 on HP-UX 11.31. Ideally, this would be a conversion of a SQL Server archive (bak file) to a new Informix instance. If not, at the database object level. The current database size is 500 Gb.
Hi, Murali. Any database engine backup contains internal format, which is impossible to directly import to other products. See this example post: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/156279/how-to-import-a-sql-server-bak-file-i nto-mysql So, best way to do it is exporting the sql scripts, and then you can easily import the data. There is an excellent ebook that can help you: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg247847.pdf HTH Alexandre Marini
I know a tool that can handle a migration from MySQL to IFMX, and apparently it does work (according to the doc) with MS SQL Server. The tools is called IBM Migration Toolkit. What I know is that the product is no more maintained by IBM, not sure about what type of license it has. There is also a red book on migrating MS SQL Server to IFMX that you can find in the IBM publications.
