OK, <smile -- see me smile?> maybe not a flame. I feel so much better
now. My problem is that backups are near and dear to my heart, and when
I see someone doing something that would keep me awake at night, I feel
I have to warn them. I've had some near disasters, and I don't want
anybody else to have to go through them.
I'm just trying to help out and say. "If you can use ontape -- use it.
If you can't I think you should be using onbar. Do everything you can
to avoid Onarchive. I've heard too many stories, and its life is
short." So, when I read your message, it seemed like you were just
making fun of something I consider to be a very serious subject. Bad
backups are no laughing matter, especially when they're yours.

<OK, I'm still smiling, cause re-reading my comments, they did seem a
little much!> I wasn't bragging, I was trying to make a point that you
didn't seem to get the first time. Apparently I didn't get yours
either, so we're even. ;) I was just trying to say that I know what the
(*^*&*% I'm doing, and I couldn't make that darn thing work. Maybe it
got better. MAN, I hope so, but here I am, a person who spends his
whole life eating/sleeping/whatever backups, and I couldn't make that
product sing. I THOUGHT I did, until I tried to recover.

OK, now you hit it right on the head. I went off coffee for about two
weeks by just coincidence and happenstance. One night, my wife brings
home grounds. I said, hmm, I think I'll make a cup. I was up til 4AM!
(And writing messages that blabbed on forever.)
"I love you man..." But when you're talking about backups, you're in my
back yard. Don't be surprised if I get a little edgy on such a touchy
subject.
Can we hug now?
