I believe that 7.x uses UNIX login/password for connect authentication, which means that, yes, you've got to create a UNIX account for the user on the UNIX system. Assuming this, if you can create a single UNIX account that 'anyone' can use. With 7.x, this issue, authentication, has nothing to do with with the granting or revoking of permissions on a database or its tables. Vic
