ISM is a limited functionality storage manager aka Legato Light which is intended to allow you to back up and restore on the same server using Informix Onbar. There are workarounds that allow you to do restores on a other servers (imported restore). If you have a requirement to perform imported restores on a regular basis and these workarounds are too complex you may want to consider migrating to a full blown storage manager such as Legato or Tivoli.
