We do plan on upgrading > all our clients to Informix 7 but this will be a rolling process and not > everyone will be upgraded at the same time. You can do it but the V7 compiled app needs a 7.xx runtime environment. Just install V7.x CONNECT, configure a sqlhosts file (7.xx format) to match the 5.xx hosts and set INFORMIXSERVER to the name of the ODS 5.xx instance. I believe that you cannot use a shared memory connection for this but tcpip and strpip should work fine. I do this myself. Art S. Kagel
