As you know, error 28 is ENOSPC, No space left on device. You say there is
enough space on the local disk -- what about in /tmp? If it suddenly
changed, then I'd guess that someone deposited a large file in /tmp. Also,
on Solaris, the swap space and /tmp somehow share disk space, so if I've
got large processes running, I have less /tmp space, and if I have big
files in /tmp I have less swap space, more or less.
