I keep thinking I have said my last, but as this develops it is just too good to stay out of it. I wish I could read/speak German. Once again, I ask all of you reading c.d.i. to take 5 minutes, and email Informix. Tell them you want a Linux port. Actual informix email addresses are showing up here in c.d.i., which is a big move. I salute them. If you haven't tried Linux to make up your mind, trust me, it's fantastic. It could be the biggest revolution in the computer business since the PC. Imagine taking a computer that costs around $2000 USD, and running UNIX on it. Applications, a real data base product, email, true multitasking, a network, development tools, what more do you need for computing? Informix, please don't use c.d.i. as your sole basis of doing the Linux port. Or the lack of response. Take a gamble, watch the market respond. I'll support you, I promise. And dare I say, many out there who can't speak will too.
