Subject: Problem with set explain on
Hi,
I have a very strange problem that I have never seen on other installations.
If I run a "set explain on" by any user other than informix, I get the
error messages:
534: Cannot open EXPLAIN file
1: NOT OWNER
It is ok if I launch it by user informix. The access rights on the
current directory are ok (everybody may read/write).
The configuration is: Informix Online Dynamic Server 7.23.UC1
AIX 4.2.1.0
Is there anybody who could give me a hint?
JL: The sqexplain.out file is placed in the home directory of the user on the machine
JL: where the ODS system is running. If there is no home directory, then a default
JL: location, probably root (/), is used instead, and, since most people cannot write in
JL: the root directory (and no-one except root should be able to do so!), you get the
JL: failure to create the sqexplain.out file with one of the normal system errors for
JL: reporting problems. The alternative may be that the file exists but the user is not
JL: the owner of the file and has no privileges on the file...
