stored procedures in informix se

I am a newbie to Informix and wanted to create a stored procedure for a database on a machine running linux. The only problem is that there is no function, that i have seen, to create, edit, and run SPL files. There is only a function to create SQL files. Does anyone in Informix land know where I would start to create a stored procedure and save it using Informix SE??
