It's certainly possible to get this stuf to work, it just isn't easy. There is a special installation manual available at http://www.informix.com/answers which is very helpfull. A much better solution is however to use another ODBC driver. The one form Informix/Intersolv isn't exactly known for it's quality, ease of installation nor features that it's very likely you will need. Check the faq for other alternatives. (See my signature.)
