dbexport brain-dead?

I've just been trying to export a database with `dbexport`. In the middle of running, it exits with the error "201 A syntax error has occured". Now, how does dbexport trip over statements it is generating itself??? This is bizarre . . . So, one part of dbexport is generating SQL statements, and another is checking its own syntax and rejecting its self-generated SQL statements???
