Thank you to everyone who answered my posting re the problem of using a system call in stored procedures in SE 7.1. Since posting, Informix tech support have confirmed that there is a bug and that system calls do not work in SE 7.1X. There is no work around. Details of the bug follow. I need to execute a script or ESQL C program from Informix SQL. It must be executed from Informix and not the command line as I am accessing the database via ODBC. I cannot upgrade to a higher version of SE as it would mean upgrading my OS (SCO 3.2), which is not possible at this time. I hope someone out there may have a solution. Kate Juliff The details of the SP bug are as follows: bugp 59226 Bug: 59226 STORED PROCEDURE USING SYSTEM CALL RETURNS ERRORS 668/1 WHEN USING STANDARD ENGINE Date: 1996-09-19 Category: BACKEND Type: SW this bug was not reproduced in 7.20 version of Standard Engine. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
