Hi all I don't have too much experience in Database. In my life I have only used MS Access to build DB. Right now, I want to further my computer career in building databases. Could anyone give me some brief info on Informix, Oracle & Sybase products..? Are they all Client & Server application? Can they use under Linuix? I am currently studying MCSE and still have two papers to complete. Can these db products install on NT environment? I went to Oracle's web page recently and found that they have the certificate OCP..Is it worthwhile to study them. How is it recognize in the market place and what will be the trend in the future? Please give me some advice for me to start off. Many many thanks indeed. Thanks Peggy

I'm not as familiar with Informix and Sybase. >Are they all Client & Server application? Oracle has a product called Personal Oracle, but in my experience it's used mostly by people to train to use the client/server version. 30- day trial versions are available somewhere in http://www.oracle.com/download. >Can they use under Linuix? The database administrator track is highly regarded in my area (midwestern US). I haven't heard much about the database developer track around here. Good luck.
