HELP!!! Problem about INET-PC with FTP PCTCP
Posted in 1994
I have a problem about I4GL for Windows, I-Net PC and I-Star on UNIXserver!!!
Lines: 59
I use FTP PCTCP 2.3 and there are no problem with communiation from PC to UNIX
(ping, login are OK).
Installations of I4GL for Windows and I-Net PC were O.K. both
into C:\\INFORMIX directory.
This is string from /etc/services on the UNIX:
.....
starserv1 8000/tcp #STAR service1
starserv2 8001/tcp #STAR service2
I had copied /etc/services into c:\\PCTCP\\services directory
This is string from /informix/etc/sqlhosts on the UNIX:
........
srvr0001 olsoctcp host0001 starserv1
srvr0002 olsoctcp host0001 starserv2
........
srvr0001 is DBSERVERNAME
host0001 is UNIX hostname
starserv is STAR service
On the PC I have environment:
PCTCP=C:\\PCTCP\\pctcp.ini
INFORMIXDIR=C:\\INFORMIX
PATH=....;C:\\INFORMIX\\BIN;...
In the SetNet window I input:
hostname: host0001
username: informix
servicename: starserv
protocolname: tcp-ip
But when I run Programmer's Environment Manager (PEM), I have next message:
PEM has encountered an error while accessing the database. Database server
terminated unexpectedly.
What is my mistake? Maybe need another special variables on the PC or UNIX ?
I can't check my I-STAR for REAL two servers, but imitation of TWO database
servers on ONE host machine is OK. For example:
select * from stores2t@srvr0001:customer
is OK, while DBSERVERNAME is srvr0002.
