Hello All, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. I am using the put statement to export data in a fixed ascii format, but it is putting in extra end of line characters. Or at least I think that is what it is. When I vi the file and do 1, $l it shows & at several points throughout the line. Listed below are the statement for the put (pretty simple): def var i as int no-undo. {exvar.i icsp} for each conv-prod no-lock: put stream data-file prod at 1 desc1 at 25 desc2 at 49 lookupnm at 73 seqno at 88 enterdt at 91 statustype at 97 bolclass at 98 weight at 104 cubes at 113 prodcat at 122 unitstock at 126 unitcnt at 130 unitsell at 134 lifocat at 138 priceonty at 142 termsdiscfl at 143 termspct at 144 sellmult at 149 kittype at 153 kitrollty at 154 exponinvfl at 155 kitnsreqfl at 156 speccostty at 157 csunperstk at 158 prccostper at 171 msdsfl at 175 msdssheetno at 176 msdschgdt at 186 corecharge at 192 edicd at 201 slgroup at 203 pbseqno at 209 warrlength at 217 warrtype at 221 user1 at 222 user2 at 230 skip. {status.i "Item Master Unload " stat-frame} end. {control.i """Unload""" """icprod""}

I don't recognize it; it is not Perl, Tcl/Tk, awk, LISP, C, ESQL/C, NewEra, I4GL, SPL, SQL, ... It also is not clear how it relates to Informix. > I am using the > put statement to export data in a fixed ascii format, but it is > putting in extra end of line characters. It is progress 4gl and I don't think it has anything to do with informix.
