While the version 5 documentation was not very verbose about the sqlhosts file, the version 7.2 documentation is extremely detailed. I counted 18 pages (at one location) detailing every field and option. In addition, the index has 20 entries under the "sqlhosts" heading, listing pointers to other references. The manual's individual entries are extensively cross-referenced, guiding enquiring minds to related, and possibly more detailed, topics. This is from the "Informix-OnLine Dynamic Server Administrator's Guide, version 7.2".
