CLI question

Hi, In the CLI sample, I see below code. /* Set the ODBC version to 3.0 */ rc = SQLSetEnvAttr (henv, SQL_ATTR_ODBC_VERSION, (SQLPOINTER) SQL_OV_ODBC3, 0); if (checkError (rc, SQL_HANDLE_ENV, henv, (SQLCHAR *) "Error in Step 1 -- SQLSetEnvAttr failed\\ Exiting!!")) return (1); Is it a pre-requisite for using CLI? Could I ignore those code? thanks for your time.
