UPPER() doesn't work for IUS 9.14?

Hi guys, I have IUS 9.14 with Web Datablade, running on Sun Solaris 2.6. The upper() function doesn't work for me. Using dbaccess, a SQL statement like this: select upper(description) from my_table Will throw an error message "Routine (upper) can not be resolved". Is this an expected behaviour?
