No help there errno 5 is the dreaded generic "I/O error". Anyway there
are three problems here:
The first problem (at 14:43:33) looks like a failure of a pipe
connection. This is either a bug or someone/something destroyed a pipe
connection.
The second problem at 14:34:34 the invokation of the alarm program
failed because ALARMPROGRAM was set to "/dev/null". If you want no
alarm program just leave the parameter blank:
ALARMPROGRAM # No program wanted
The third problem on the last line indicates either 1) a partially
failed install, 2) a tool (esql or 4GL) was installed after the engine
and was an earlier version, or 3) some joker at Informix forgot to
submit his error message for inclusion in the released message file.
Number 2 is most likely, remember the "Rule of TEN" install Tools then
Engines, then (in versions prior to 6.00) Network components. Since
networking is now included in all 7.xx engines maybe this should become
the "Rule of TE"? Naw!
