INFORMIX ON-LINE (v5.0) asyncronous backups

Hi, I would like to know if anyone could help me in the following question: Is it possible to make on INFORMIX ON-LINE version 5.0, asyncronous backups, i.e., create a batch-job on crontab (or something similar). The objective is to avoid the necessity of backups during the daily period of work. I've already asked a INFORMIX specialist who said that it wasn't possible. Please reply by e-mail, since I don't have Usenet access and I'm using a friend's account (and he doesn't read this group).
