How do you update Blobs remotely from VB through ODBC?

What a pain. Most remote informix calls can be done through Visual Basic using Dynasets. I can even READ the blob through a dynaset. However, dynasets are only useful with Informix if you use the SQL passthrough option, meaning only if you can write a query as you would in dbaccess and execute it. This means that I can't seem to find a way to update a blob from a VB application. Does anyone know how to do this? If not, does anyone know of any VBX's available which will accomplish the task?
