Another question about replication

Thanks for Madison's help , I have sucessfully finished my first replication test. Now , I have another question about replication: How can I specify that I want to replicate the whole database , not only 1 or several tables ? Instead of setting a lot of replcate rule to all my tables , can I just use one "cdr define replicate" command to finish my goal ? Ken

We don't (currently) have a single command to make ER work at a database level. However, I do have scripts which will do this, which I will be including in an ER toolset that I'll be covering in the ER workshop that I'm doing at the user conference.

Will you be able to make these generally available post-conference?
Maybe... The key problem that I'm going to have is trying to get enough quality documentation in place so that I won't be swampped with support issues after giving the toolkit away. I'm not sure how much time I'll have between now and conference to do much more than have a bunch of README files. Here's the topics for the talk. HDR setup ER setup ER sync issues ER resync issues ER troubleshooting/best practices Replication with no keys Command replication Conflict elimination techniques Cacheing techniques Cloning techniques Large scale deployment techniques The toolkit consists of support tools to enable these functionalities. It includes scripts/programs to: create a cache (table & DB) create a clone (table & DB) create user shadow columns perform resync integreation of ER with pload user defined shadow columns simplified set creation As an example, if I want to create clones of the stores_demo db on 4 target servers, I issue... mkclone -s source_serv -set stores_set -d stores_demo targ1 targ2 targ3 targ4 setsync source_serv stores_set I've got the tools working under XP (using MKS toolkit) and will be using my laptop to demo.
