db server & inet

Hi all, We use Informix ODS 7.1. I have 2 questions: 1. We're using multiple residency by running multiple database server instances (each with its own ONCONFIG file). Now how do I drop a database server instance? I can't just remove the config files and chunks, because there stuff also maintained in the SMI table, correct? 2. We're running ESQL/C programs from a Sun Solaris machine connecting to another Sun running Informix ODS 7.1. Now with Oracle and Sybase, I have to specify both the user and password within the ESQL/C program for authentication. Does Informix ESQL/C support this feature? Or does it just use the default running user to authenticate against the server? If true, this is going to be painful in a Web environment because the Web server usually runs under the nobody user.
