Has anyone out there had any success in implementing a remote-access capability to an Informix Database? Here is the scenario, Informix-Online on a HP 9000 with I-STAR Multiple PC Clients running applications written in Wingz with Datalink over TCP/IP to access the Databases. Now here's the problem. Our users tend to be on the road a lot and would need to run their applications off a laptop with a modem. So, I tried to replace the PC/TCP kernel from ethernet to a SLIP driver, which works fine for the PC/TCP stuff. But once within Wingz, it justs sits and hums ad infinitum. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could access our databases from a PC over modems? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Tom Smith toms@utoday.com
