permission

Hi all, I have informix 7.23 on Solaris 2.6 and am having the following problem... As user informix, I can access any tools installed and do any of the onstat, oncheck, etc commands with no problems. As a user, I can access tools fine (dbaccess, esql, etc..) but if i try to do any of the onstat commands or onmonitor i get the following error: onstat: Shared memory: permission denied. when I try to get into onmonitor, it says nothing just returns my cursor. I have checked permissions in bin and compared them to the onlinefiles file but they all look the same. I also tried to re-install IDS, CLI and Connect in the order 1.CLI - 2.5 2.IDS - 7.23 3.Connect - 7.23 and I'm not getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.....
