Just as a note to a previous response... You can execute unix commands from with 4gl using the run command: define unix_command char (100) let unix_command = "less ", filename run unix_command We do these all the time and they work quite well. The only problem we have is that in revs 4.<whatever>, any run command is accompanied by a screen redraw.
