Janet: You can have Veritas create/maintain the mirror volumes for you. We had one case where a drive died and the mirror took over without too many problems (it took Veritas about 30m to break the mirror). This happened under Veritas 2.1 (ie, SEVM) which was known to be buggy. We are currently running SEVM v2.6 and so far, no problems. I cannot give you performance benchmark between Ifmx mirrors vs. Veritas mirrors. I have always done the later.
