What I was trying to say was ,
it is not possible for me to set TAPEDEV to null and change database status
to nologging using ontape , do alter fragment set status back to logging and
point the TAPDEV back to the original TAPEDEV, sorry about the LTAPEDEV.

You could add some log space temporarily, in cooked disk if necessary,
just to get this exercise thorugh, then drop it again.
Setting LTAPEDEV to null has no relevance to getting a long transaction.
