DESCRIPTION: Pedley-Stringer, Incorporated, a visionary provider of systems integration and information technology professionals to leading-edge companies, is currently recruiting a Distributed Database Software Designer for opportunities in Austin, Texas. Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-performance computer systems, is experiencing growth and seeking gifted individuals to join their design team. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a degree (prefer Master's) and experience in the following areas: * Over 10 years of experience in software development * Over 3 years of experience in the distributed database field * Over 4 years of experience in software development in a UNIX environment, using C or C++. Additional preferred experience includes: * Understanding and experience in performance analysis of database systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will serve as primary point of contact between this organization and database companies. Serve as architect for distributed database system offerings built on industry standard databases. Coordinate internal development effort to ensure that distributed lock management, communications and disk management components mesh. and create reliable, high performance distributed databases. Will also coordinate software development efforts to ensure a well integrated and convenient management toolset. Port and/or write system-specific code required for hosting industry standard databases within the distribute framework. Other current priorities for Pedley-Stringer, Inc. include UNIX Systems Administrator/Group Leader and ORACLE Database Administrators.
