Problem entering field in "input"

Hi.
I have run into a problem which I can not fathom. The following code
was used to reproduce a problem whereby on an input statement the
cursor refuses to enter the field "comp_nr" and jumps straight to the
"id" field.
We are running 5.01 Engine and 4.10 4gl (Have had the symptoms with
earlier versions too)
Any help understanding the obvious or subtle trap that I have fallen
into would be appreciated.
The 4gl Program =====================================================
database test
main
define Mem_Rec record like member.*
open window TWIN at 2, 2 with form "Test" attribute (border)
input by name Mem_Rec.*
before field comp_nr
message "CompNr?" attribute (reverse)
before field id
message "Id?" attribute (reverse)
end input
close window TWIN
end main
The Form ============================================================
database test
screen
{
=================
#[f000 ]
ID:[f001 ]
}
end
tables
member
attributes
f000 = member.comp_nr;
f001 = member.id;
end
instructions
delimiters " "
end
The Table =============================================================
create table member
(
comp_nr serial not null,
id char(20)
);
The End ================================================================
