Character Set Question !

Hi all, Thanks to all for answering my "Dynamic Array" question. but just to let u all know that INFORMIX MANUALS say that it can be used. Informix 4GL reference Vol 1, Page no: 3-117. There is also a demo program in which they say that u can define dynamic array. But then in the actual program that it kept in informix demo directory it is harcoded as 50 (: also when u compile the 4gl program, it cribs... BTW, heres another question ! In char type of variable, we can include anything (A-Z,a-z,0-9,special characters). Is there any way that i dont allow a particular character to be accepted in char type of variable. say i dont want user to enter ' " ' (double quotes) in a char field. I can do it in after fields of char variables...but there are many programs that will have to be changed for tht purpose, which i dont want to do. So is there any way i can change the informix char set which will negate the input of double quotes in all the programs and all the char fields ? I am using DEC Alpha UNIX 4.12, Ifx OE/SE 7.1, Ifx 4GL 6.0 If any more info is required, do tell me.
