HELP: HDR Restart Fails after upgrade

Platfrom: IBM RS/6000 J30 & J40
Informix: IDS 7.24.UC1-1
Earlier this morning I upgraded both boxes to the above version from 7.23UC1
We had HDR running with no problems. Now when I attempt to restart the
severrs I get this message on the primary
DR: Primary server connected
DR: Receive error
DR: Failure recovery(2)
DR: Turned off on primary server
During the many times I have attempted this restart, the primary has
occaisonally complained that DR: Server type incompatible
The secondary will come up, go into fast recovery mode and hang while saying
DR: Server state incompatible. The oninit processes are sitting in the
process table, but they are not using any cpu. I have a feeling that fast
recovery is looking for something that is not there and won't move on until I
can provide it or fake the engine out somehow.
Things I have tried:
Rebooting both boxes.
Starting in various combinations
Re-installing IDS on both machines
onmode -d secondary (prim_name) to force into secondary mode.forcing checkpoint on secondary
Any other ideas? I have about 18 hours before my logs are overwritten and I
have to start over with a new archive.
On another note, does someone have a pointer the DR error message set? I've
tried my Answers CD and the Website, but these don't seem to be explained
anywhere that I've been
Thanks!
Dave Thacker

I think some database structures changed with 7.24 (Structure of the
checkpoint record??). I would upgrade the primary then start again
with a fresh archive.
