Hi, group I was asked to lean Informix. Our Informix seems binded tightly with SCO Unix. I am familar with Linux for years, but SCO Unix still looks weird to me. Can anyone could suggest me something I can begin with, maybe books or urls. I need to install a SCO + Informix from scratch and learn administratration later. Another question: Is there any Informix for Linux? Can I get a free copy just for development run? Thanks! -- %% (fortunes) Q: How did you get into artificial intelligence? A: Seemed logical -- I didn't have any real intelligence.

Openserver or Unixware? >Can anyone could suggest me something I can begin with, >maybe books or urls. You can add device drivers during installation. For Informix, follow the manual. You will have to adjust kernel parameters - google for SCO and Informix. >Another question: Is there any Informix for Linux? Can I get a free >copy just for development run? > > There is. Register with IIUG and download 9.40. Just don't get too excited about new 9.4 features - SCO is way behind in versions. >Thanks! > > > You're welcome. Michael
Hi Steven, I think you must buy a Development version for Linux (It's a 1 user version) I have bought it a few years ago. I think they are now 500 Euro => $ 500,- ? An Informix engineer tells me next year that I may use a Development version from work at home because I am the DBA. The reason for that he said: "that you0 less call the Helpdesk" = --- Leo On 8/15/03 5:41 AM, in article 86n0ebtwn6.fsf@hub.lczm.com, "Steven Woody" <steven@steven4u.net> wrote: > > Hi, group > > I was asked to lean Informix.
